What the city is about to decide

The Commission meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Commission Chambers, 2020 Wilton Drive. Anyone may speak for three minutes on any issue, and no advance sign-up is required.

How to be heard

In person. Show up at the Commission Chambers, 2020 Wilton Drive. Public comment is three minutes per speaker on any issue. You do not need to sign up in advance and you do not need to cite ordinance numbers — saying what you are there about is enough.

In writing. Email the Commission before the meeting. Comments received by 6 p.m. are delivered to commissioners ahead of the meeting and entered into the public record. Include your name and address. The address is on the city's agendas and public comment page.

From home. Meetings stream live and the video posts on demand afterward, from the same page.

Reading an agenda yourself

Two things are worth knowing. First reading means an ordinance has to come back for a second vote before it takes effect — there is still time. Second reading is the final vote. And the consent agenda is a block of items that pass together without discussion unless a commissioner pulls one out, which is where genuinely consequential things occasionally sit.
